Nvidia GTz 1070
The Geforce GTX 1070 is a budget friendly video card. The card goes for around $350 and fits nicely between the GTX 1060 ( $250 ) and the GTX 1080( $499 ). Compared to the GTX 1060, the GTX 1070 includes SLi support. Both the GTX 1060 and the GTX 1070 are based on the same Pascal arhitecture which allows cramming more transistors without increasing power consumption or heat disapation. There is also a performance benefit between the GTX 1060 and the GTX 1070
According to every benchmark, the GTX 1070 outperforms the GTX 1060 in almost every benchmar. PassMark scores the GTX 1060 at 9,030 and the GTX 1070 at 11,241. 3Dmark scores the GTX 1060 at 10,561 and the GTX 1070 at 15,618. In terms of pure measurements, the GTX 1070 outperforms the GTX 1060 but whether it is the better video card will depend on the monitor you use. If you are using a 1080p with a 60hz refresh rate, you may not see a difference since the gpu power of the GTx 1070 is capable of a higher refresh rate than 60hz. If you are using a 1440p monitor or a monitor with a high refresh rate, you may see a differenc. If you are running a 4k gaming monitor, the 1070 barely handles 4k.
Another difference is that the GTX 1070 supports SLI while the GTX 1060 doesn't. SLI stands for Scalable Link Interface. It is the term used by graphics card company Nvidia to describe the way it connects multiple GPUs. The technology is a form of parallel processing that makes it possible for up to four Nvidia GPUs work together to render a game at extremely high frame-rates. Many people unfamiliar with SLI assume that two cards will be twice as quick as one. Various companies selling desktops, laptops and video cards have done nothing to deny this. The assumption is incorrect, however. There is an overhead associated with getting two or more GPUs to work together. Driver and game support for the feature are also factors. In a best-case scenario an SLI configuration will be 80% quicker than a single card. In a worst-case scenario it may actually be slower. SLI have come a long way over the years, but there can still be problems. One common issue is micro-stutter. This is a perception of stutter that players sometimes experience with SLI configurations but doesn't show up in a game's average framerate.
