Windows 10 disable automatic updates
There are Windows 10 updates that are causing PCs to slow down to a crawl or even render your computer unusable. There are also updates that continue to fail and gets rolled back constantly. In previous versions of Windows, users had an easy way to prevent automatic updates but with Windows 10 Home, there isn't an easy way to block automatic updates.
If you have Windows 10 Home and connect to the internet via wifi, you can disable automatic updates with the following steps:
Go to Start.
Click on the gear icon for settings.
Click on Network & internet.
Click on Wi-Fi.
Click on the wireless SSID you are using.
Scroll down until you see the Metered connection section.
Click on the set metered connection switch to turn on.
When you are ready to download updates again, you can go back to the wifi settings and turn the metered connection switch off again.
